The current workshop will explore the impact of the new reality of the legalization of cannabis in many states across the USA on the field of mental health. It will discuss the rise of usage among young adults and teens, and it’s wide-ranging effects on individuals. Different methods for treatment for compulsive use, as well as effects on relationships, will be explored, as well.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Participants will define the overt and covert effects of marijuana on the brain and mind.
  2. Participants will explain the crucial components needed for recovering from addictive use.
  3. Participants will summarize the harmful impact and stages of repair for overwhelmed and confused parents and partners
Agenda:

15 min- overview of the chemical properties of marijuana.

30 min- Listing the effects of cannabis on the various parts of the brain

15 min- Approaches to recovery when usage becomes compulsive

25 min- the effects and repair when weed impacts relationships 

35 min- Q and A
