About the Presenter

Trainer, Dr. Heidi Schreiber-Pan is the author of Taming the Anxious Mind: A Guidebook to Relieve Stress and Anxiety. She is the Clinical Director of the Chesapeake Mental Health Collaborative. Dr. Schreiber-Pan is also a successful psychotherapist, and sought-after nationwide speaker on topics of resilience, anxiety, neuroscience, and occupational burnout. As an affiliate and former faculty member of Loyola University, Maryland, her past research has focused on resiliency and psychological well-being, including nature-based mental health.

    • In-depth examination of the seven key principles that underlie the human grief response.
    • Discussion and case studies illustrating each principle.
  • 11:15 am - 12:15 pm: Session 2 - Attachment Theory and Its Role in Grief
    • Delve into Attachment Theory and its relevance in understanding the grieving process.
    • Explore how attachment styles impact the experience of loss and mourning.

  • 2:15 pm - 2:45 pm: Session 4 - Understanding Loss History & Identifying Severe and Persistent Grief
    • Examining the historical context of loss and its impact on the grieving process.
    • Identification and differentiation of severe and persistent grief reactions.
  • 2:45 pm - 3:45 pm: Session 5 - The Road to Healing: Tools and Techniques
    • Introduction to a range of therapeutic tools and techniques for facilitating the healing process.
    • Interactive exercises and case discussions on applying these tools.
  • 3:45 pm - 4:15 pm: Session 6 - Counseling Children and Adolescents in Grief
    • Focus on the unique needs and challenges faced by young individuals dealing with grief.
