Q. What browser is recommended to view webinars?

A. We recommend using  Firefox  or  Chrome. Safari for Windows and Internet Explorer are not supported.

Q. The video does not start. How do I start the Stream?

A. Click the play button (the triangle) that is in the middle of the video player

Q. I completed the webinar but cannot find my certificate

A. Click on the link at the bottom of the video player where it says “Get your certificate”. The certificates can also be found in the workshops and certificates pages on your account

Q. Will my regulatory bodies accept the certificate provided for continued education credits

A. The certificates provided are accepted by most regulatory bodies.  Please see the list of provided certificates on the bottom of each webinar page.  Make sure that you are aware of your states and disciplines regulations to ensure that you chose the correct certificate.  If you need assistance with this, Please feel free to email.

Q. I can not be present at the time of the live presentation.  Will I be able to access it at a later time?

A. If you are not able to view the webinar when it streams live, you may use the link to watch it at your convenience. All webinar recordings become available on the website about 24 hours after they stream live.

Q. How much time do I have to view the webinar?

A. You are allotted enough time to watch the webinar one time plus enough time to review most of the webinar a second time.  If for some reason you run out of time, do not worry, just reach out to us on the contact page.

Q. I purchased the webinar but am now being asked to pay again. How can I access the webinar?

A. You will need to login in order to access the webinar, you can do so by clicking on the “login to access it now” button. You can also access your webinars from your  account  page by selecting the  Workshops  tab.

NYS Mandated Reporter Training

A pre-test is required for this webinar. Pretest will take place from 1:50 pm-2:00 pm EST. The presentation will start at 2:00 pm EST.

The pre-test is not scored. A post - test is required with a score of 70%. The recording will be available 24 hours after the live viewing.

This training meets the updated 2023 New York State standards for training in the identification and reporting of suspected child maltreatment. Participants will receive the required updated certificate after successful completion of the post-test.

This class does not provide other continuing Education credits aside from the Mandated Reporting Certificate.

For more than 30 years, New York State law requires professionals working under over thirty different titles to take training in the identification and reporting of suspected child maltreatment. In 2023, New York State updated that training to address significant issues that have impacted thousands of families in the state. The legal requirement to report suspicions of child maltreatment is confusing to navigate in relation to our other professional and ethical responsibilities.

 

Over the past twenty years, Dr. Kathryn Krase, JD, MSW has trained tens of thousands of New York State professionals. She has also authored multiple books and dozens of articles on the topic of mandated reporting. Through this workshop, Dr. Krase provides profession-based context to the role of mandated reporter where professionals are charged with knowing how to support their clients and when they are required to report a concern to child protective services. Mandated reporters will learn a framework to guide the decision to make this “tough call” using research findings and practical advice based on real case examples. This training meets the updated 2023 New York State standards for training in the identification and reporting of suspected child maltreatment. Participants will receive the required updated certificate after successful completion of the post-test.

About the Presenter

Kathryn Krase, Ph.D., J.D., M.S.W., Principal Consultant with Krase Consultant, is an expert on the professional reporting of suspected child maltreatment. She has authored multiple books and articles on the subject. She has years of experience consulting with government and community-based organizations to develop policy & practice standards.
