Description:
I am a licensed social worker, a certified addiction counselor, and a Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT Candidate). I focus much of my work with individuals struggling with addiction (alcohol, drugs, gambling, internet, sex). Many individuals find their lives and relationships paralyzed by the grasp of various addictions, and I have helped countless individuals liberate themselves. Many of my clients feel stuck in life, struggling with anxiety, depression, or difficulty adjusting to changes in their lives. I am also a big believer in the use of mindfulness as a tool for change, as well as group therapy.
Within addiction, I use a number of different modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), 12-step based work (i.e. Alcoholics Anonymous), Motivational Interviewing, Family and Trauma work, and I have a specific preference for mindfulness and spirituality. I also assist individuals in their post-addiction work.
I have a unique sensitivity to the Frum community, and am especially aware of the struggles of at-risk teenagers. I have a practice in Springfield NJ & Brooklyn NY, and am available for both evening and weekend hours. Feel free to call if you have any further questions.
