Whether you have experienced the agony of a significant Trauma or the hidden devastation of prolonged emotional trauma, these experiences can lead to fractures in a person's sense of self, adaptive capacity and inner cohesion, often resulting in anxiety, depression, somatic disorders, self-esteem difficulties and interpersonal struggles.
Using a blend of different perspectives with empathy and understanding, I aim to foster a supportive therapeutic relationship and create a holding space to process painful experiences, deepen insight into thoughts and feelings, and build connections with the felt sense in the body.
I have an integrative approach looking to use the "here-and-now" to access the "there-and-then" & utilize attachment based modalities like AEDP, IFS & Sensorimotor. I aim to help the client tap into their natural inclination toward healing, foster the body's innate resiliency & transform the individual's inherent capacity for survival into vitality.
My perspective mirrors Alice Miller's, The Drama of the Gifted Child. "The true opposite of depression is neither gaiety nor absence of pain, but vitality-the freedom to experience spontaneous feelings...not only happy, beautiful, or good but the entire range of human experience, including envy, jealousy, rage, disgust, greed, despair, and grief."
For the past ten years, I have been working as a psychotherapist and clinical supervisor in various settings. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Social Work from Touro. I had post-graduate certification in Integrative Trauma Treatment from NIP and training in various trauma treatment modalities including Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Hakomi Mindfulness and Internal Family Systems.
