Psychedelics have been capturing increasing attention from scientists, clinicians and the public. In this webinar, we will take an objective, science-based journey into the biology of psychedelics—how they alter brain networks, modulate gene expression, and create both opportunities and risks for mental health. We will explore phenomena like the "fireworks" effect on serotonin receptors, why natural substances are not synonymous with safe and why context and caution are crucial.

This session will also discuss the important role of healthcare providers when patients disclose psychedelic use or interest, emphasizing harm reduction, safety planning, and professional boundaries. Participants will leave with a strong foundational understanding of psychedelics, prepared to engage with patients thoughtfully, ethically, and skillfully.
