Are Digital Interventions the Next Frontier in Sex Therapy? A Facilitated Group Discussion

Wednesday, February 18th, 2026   12:00 PM EST -1:00 PM EST
Dr. Caleb Jacobson, PsyD, PhD
$24.99

Digital technologies are rapidly transforming the landscape of psychological and sexual health interventions. In their 2023 study, Vowels and Sever explored public attitudes toward digital sex therapy—examining both enthusiasm for accessibility, privacy, and reduced stigma, and skepticism regarding effectiveness, personalization, and trust. Using a mixed-methods approach, the researchers found that while digital interventions may address long-standing barriers to sexual health care, they also introduce new challenges related to user engagement, data security, and the perceived loss of human connection.

This Facilitated Group Discussion invites participants to reflect on the study’s findings and their
implications for the future of clinical practice. We will explore questions such as:
● What role can digital interventions play in expanding access to sex therapy?
● How might clinicians maintain therapeutic depth and ethical standards in digital
formats?
● What barriers must be addressed to make these tools viable and trustworthy for
patients?

Attendees are encouraged to read the article in advance and come prepared to share insights, experiences, and critiques related to integrating digital platforms into psychosexual therapy practice.
