Q. What browser is recommended to view webinars?

A. We recommend using  Firefox  or  Chrome. Safari for Windows and Internet Explorer are not supported.

Q. The video does not start. How do I start the Stream?

A. Click the play button (the triangle) that is in the middle of the video player

Q. I completed the webinar but cannot find my certificate

A. Click on the link at the bottom of the video player where it says “Get your certificate”. The certificates can also be found in the workshops and certificates pages on your account

Q. Will my regulatory bodies accept the certificate provided for continued education credits

A. The certificates provided are accepted by most regulatory bodies.  Please see the list of provided certificates on the bottom of each webinar page.  Make sure that you are aware of your states and disciplines regulations to ensure that you chose the correct certificate.  If you need assistance with this, Please feel free to email.

Q. I can not be present at the time of the live presentation.  Will I be able to access it at a later time?

A. If you are not able to view the webinar when it streams live, you may use the link to watch it at your convenience. All webinar recordings become available on the website about 24 hours after they stream live.

Q. How much time do I have to view the webinar?

A. You are allotted enough time to watch the webinar one time plus enough time to review most of the webinar a second time.  If for some reason you run out of time, do not worry, just reach out to us on the contact page.

Q. I purchased the webinar but am now being asked to pay again. How can I access the webinar?

A. You will need to login in order to access the webinar, you can do so by clicking on the “login to access it now” button. You can also access your webinars from your  account  page by selecting the  Workshops  tab.

About the Presenter

Christina Scott (she/her) graduated from Lindsey Wilson College with a M.Ed. in Mental Health Counseling and Human Development. Christina is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor in Ohio. With a history in substance use treatment, community mental health, and university center & school-based therapy, she has been providing telehealth counseling since December 2020, through her private practice, Rising Action Counseling. When she is not providing clinical services, she teaches Continuing Education courses on topics such as Positive Psychology, neurodiversity, trauma-informed care, Play Therapy, sleep disorders and dreamwork, and using media/pop culture in counseling. Christina is a Registered Play Therapist, certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and she is a Nationally Certified Counselor. Christina is a Certified Integrative Mental Health Practitioner and obtained certification as an Autism Spectrum Clinical Specialist.  A proud geek therapist, Christina co-authored a chapter in the book, Using Superheroes and Villains in Counseling and Play Therapy: A Guide for Mental Health Professionals (edited by Lawrence C. Rubin) and has been featured in Liana Lowenstein’s book, Assessment and Treatment Activities for Children Adolescents and Families VOLUME 4: Practitioners Share Their Most Effective Techniques. Serving as the Past-President for the Southeast chapter of Ohio Counseling Association, Christina is passionate about leadership and advocacy work.

8:15 – 8:45am Discuss the history of various types of neurodivergence (autism, ADHD, dyslexia, etc.) Focus on history of autism. 

8:45 – 9:15am Provide overview of neurodiversity movement/approach. Discuss research on this approach. 

9:15 – 9:30am Explore how to integrate an intersectional framework in understanding autistic experiences, as they are influenced by social/cultural/personal factors. 

9:30 – 10:00am Examine the relationship between neurodivergence and trauma and discuss potential considerations when working with autistic clients. 

10:00 – 10:30am Elaborate on neurodiverse-affirming language and strategies when working with autistic clients. 

10:30 – 11:00am Review neurodiverse-affirming resources to utilize within clinical practice.
