This introductory webinar will provide a general overview of the concept of psychoanalytic listening including an exploration of the role of free association, the mechanisms of transference and countertransference and how these phenomena relate to a therapist's capacity to listen most effectively to the spoken and unspoken. It will also highlight how the maintenance of a particular therapeutic stance is helpful in becoming more attuned to latent material.
Considerations for listening within the framework of teletherapy will also be examined.
